This is a must go if you are anywhere near! Stumbled upon this seafood spot and could not have been more pleased. Firstly, they have a great patio with beautiful view (and we were lucky enough to get a sunset). Each dish was better than the next! Everyone was a big fan of the fish and chips, scallops with gnocchi and lobster roll. Chowder and calamari were also delicious. Nice atmosphere with friendly waiters and good service. Already want to go back

Perfect setting for tranquil views and delicious food. We sat on the patio overlooking the ocean on a beautiful sunny day. We ordered calamari and fried oysters to start. Both were delicious. For our mains we had the seafood chowder and the seared scallop risotto. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The only criticism I have is that the risotto needed salt. Other than that everything was very enjoyable. We will return to try some different items as everything we saw come from the kitchen looked incredible.

Had a fantastic lunch at the Seaside Shanty! The decor is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food is absolutely delicious. Staff is friendly. I enjoyed the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m near Oak Island.

First time after renovation and new owner. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful with our orders. The staff was friendly, and eager. The price point was expected. The food was served at a reasonable time. The food was excellent and on par for the style of restaurant. Would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful view of the south shore and delicious food. It should be noted that our server, I believe her name was Jamie; was absolutely amazing and she made us feel like family.

The Seaside Shanty is one of our favourite restaurants in the area... We love the incredible food, that seared Tuna is a must have appy every time. The friendly staff and the cozy seaside vibes make the dining experience a delight. Whether it’s a date night with the wife or a dinner party with friends or clients, it’s always a win at the Shanty. Five Stars!

Sit on the patio if you can! The place was absolutely slammed when we were there (5:30ish on a Saturday) and there was only one poor server working. Turns out it was only her fourth shift (!) but she handled everything beautifully. Bit of a wait, but totally understandable considering how many tables she was juggling. Food was fantastic, view was lovely. Highly recommend making a stop here!

We stopped in specifically for the ceviche, which was listed on the website, but unfortunately the in-restaurant menu had been changed to a new season before our visit. Despite this intial disappointment, everything we tried was delicious. There are several gluten free options, however they were not marked on the menu. The service was a bit disappointing though. Only one waiter was serving the entire restaurant so naturally, we had quite a long wait.

This place is deserving of 6 stars. The lobster roll, fish, and chips were the best we had on the trip. Katherine was extremely welcoming and accommodating. The decor is so cute, with a beautiful patio and gorgeous view. The patio also has barrier-free access from the parking lot, which is a nice touch. Give this place a try.
